Rich put together his band Rich and the Poor Boys in March 2023, having met Denny,  Andrew and Jason through the Tasman Bay Blues Club where they performed at the Club's monthly Blues Jam Nights.  

Jason left the Band following the Blues at the Point Festival in March '24 (talk about leaving on a high!)  His replacement, Angai Fakava,  a talented musician experienced in multiple music genres, brings with him a whole new vibe, really locking into the pulse and driving the band with a strong foundation.

The Poor Boys are all dedicated Blues musicians who have been playing around the Nelson/Tasman region in various bands for many years.

Rich played in various UK Blues bands before arriving in NZ.  He is a founding member of Jukejoint with whom he continues to play, but he was keen to form a smaller Blues band which was harmonica-led, playing more in the Chicago Blues style of Little Walter, Howlin' Wolf, and Junior Wells, as well as incorporating some original material.
